Site description (2009 baseline):

Nanweiling is located in central-north Hainan, in the north-western part of Tunchang County. The forest in the IBA extends 6 km from north to south and 4 km from east to west, and has an area of 933 ha. The majority is tropical montane rain forest.

Non-bird biodiversity: No information.

Established as a county-level nature reserve in 1986, when logging activities were stopped.
