Site description (2009 baseline)
The typical habitat in the Nanling mountains is broadleaf-evergreen forest, including areas of both primary and secondary forests. There are many peaks of over 1,000 m, including the highest mountain in Guangdong Province, Shikengkong at 1,902 m.

Key biodiversity

Non-bird biodiversity: Nationally protected plants include Fokienia hodginsii, Pinus kwangtungensis, Tsuga tckekiangensis, Amentotaxus argotaenia, Taxus chinensis and Pseudotaxus chienii.
