Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
A glacial landscape that includes a range of forest-types, lakes, the Altfriedland fish-ponds, and streams.
The site holds more than 20,000 passage waterbirds on a regular basis.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Disturbance due to tourism is a problem in some areas. There are management plans for waders and ducks.

International HighIBA overlaps with Nature Park. IBA overlaps with Special Protection Area.
