Site description (2000 baseline):

A stretch of the Mzha river valley, near the villages of Chemuzhovka, Timchenki, Artyukhovka and Merefa. Habitats are dominated by grasslands, with numerous lakes and marshes.

Haymaking and harvesting of sedge Carex (`Other') are among the threats to the site.
