Site description (2000 baseline):

Site location and context
A fen-rich area situated in the southern foothills of the Alps. The main habitat-types are fen, raised bog, reedbeds (Phragmites), wet meadows, forest, ponds and small rivers.



Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The area is a candidate Special Area for Conservation.



Protected areas
National Partial International None2,355 ha of IBA covered by Nature Reserve (Murnauer Moos, 2,355 ha).
