Site description (2009 baseline)
Located in the north-western part of Huanjiang County, the northern part of the reserve is linked to Maolan Nature Reserve (CN290) in Guizhou. The IBA has well-preserved central subtropical evergreen deciduous forests, and a typical karst landscape.

Key biodiversity

Non-bird biodiversity: Important plants include Kmeria septemrionalis and Pseudotsuga brevifolia. Animals include Python molurus, Selenarctos thibetanus, Macaca mulatta, Macaca thibetana, Viverra zibetha, Felis temmincki, Panthera pardus, Moschus berezovskii and Naemorhedus goral.
