Site location and context
Angke River along the eastern boundary of this small reserve supplies water for swamp and mangrove inside the area. The river is polluted heavily.
Covered by mangrove forest with general vegetation of
Avicennia sp.
and
Sonneratia sp. (MacKinnon
et.al. 1982).
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Mangrove cutting, water pollution, settlements development at the edge of the area (MacKinnon
et.al. 1982).
Declared as Nature Reserve (25.4 ha) based on SK Menteri Kehutanan No. 095/Kpts-II/88 on 28 February1988 (Anon 1997). The status of this area changed to Wildlife Sanctuary (25.02 ha) based on SK Menteri Kehutanan dan Perkebunan No. 755/Kpts-II/1998 on 26 November 1998.
