Site location and context
A sparsely forested area of ravines and valleys. Livestock-farming is widespread.
This is an important site for species breeding in a mosaic of open forest, scrub and grassland.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The main threats are from intensified forest management and illegal hunting. Part of the area is a candidate SAC.

International HighPart of IBA covered by Wildlife Refuge (Viras/Eptamilon, Dinousas, Serron, 870 ha). 26,512 ha of IBA covered by Special Protection Area (Koilada Timiou Prodromou-Menoikiou Koryfes Orous Menoiko-Oros, 26,512 ha).
