Site location and context
This site is dominated by maquis and phrygana. Fires have created large barren areas. The main human activity is livestock-farming.



Key biodiversity
The site is important for species characteristic of Mediterranean scrub.



Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The main threats are from fire and infrastructural developments. Part of the area is a candidate SAC.



Protected areas
National None International Partial2,210 ha of IBA covered by Special Protection Area (Meterizia-Agios Dikaios-Tsounara-Vitsilia Lefkon Oren, 2,210 ha).
