Site location and context
A remote mountain range characterized by bare summits, wooded slopes, gorges and scree slopes.
This is an important area for breeding and passage raptors and alpine and forest species. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria:
Haliaeetus albicilla (non-breeding),
Aquila clanga (wintering),
Aquila heliaca (wintering),
Falco naumanni (passage).
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The main threats are the replacement of native forest with
Pinus plantations and illegal hunting. The area is a candidate SAC.
