Site description (2000 baseline)
A mountainous area comprising the Montes Aquilanos and the Sierra del Teleno ranges. The vegetation is a mixture of deciduous and mixed forest, scrub, Pinus plantations and alpine grasslands. Human activities include hunting and forestry.
Key biodiversity
This is an important area for cliff-nesting raptors and forest birds. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria: Falco naumanni (100 non-breeding individuals).
