Middle reaches of the Sherabad River

IBA Justification

The site was identified as internationally important for bird conservation in 2007 because it was regularly supporting significant populations of the species listed below, meeting ('triggering') IBA criteria.

Populations meeting IBA criteria ('trigger species') at the site:
Species Red List Season (year/s of estimate) Size IBA criteria
See-see Partridge Ammoperdix griseogularis LC resident (2007) 53 birds A3
Cinereous Vulture Aegypius monachus NT resident (1975–2007) 2–5 birds A1
European Roller Coracias garrulus LC breeding (2007) 60 birds A1
Saker Falcon Falco cherrug EN breeding (2007) 1 birds A1
Upcher's Warbler Hippolais languida LC breeding (2007) 16 birds A3
Plain Leaf-warbler Phylloscopus neglectus LC breeding (2007) 2 birds A3
Eastern Rock Nuthatch Sitta tephronota LC resident (2007) 19 birds A3
Variable Wheatear Oenanthe picata LC breeding (2007) 1 birds A3
Finsch's Wheatear Oenanthe finschii LC breeding (2007) 36 birds A3
Grey-necked Bunting Emberiza buchanani LC breeding (2007) 4 birds A3

IBA Conservation

Ideally the conservation status of the IBA will have been checked regularly since the site was first identified in 2007. The most recent assessment (2007) is shown below.

IBA conservation assessment
Year of assessment State Pressure Response
2007 very poor very high not assessed
Whole site assessed? State assessed by Accuracy of information
