Site description (2009 baseline):

Site location and context

Located in Zhenlai County, western Jilin Province, 22 km from the city. The IBA includes 30,000 ha of marshes, 20,000 ha of grassland, 11,540 ha of woodland and 11,200 ha of agricultural land.

Key biodiversity

Non-bird biodiversity: Mammals include Canis lupus, Vulpes vulpes and Lepus capensis.

Conservation responses/actions for key biodiversity

Established as a provincial-level nature reserve in 1981, and upgraded to a national nature reserve in 1997.
