Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
An area dominated by sheep- and cattle-grazed dry grasslands and wheat cultivation. There are a few streams and ponds surrounded by
Tamarisk and
Salix scrub.
This is an important site for breeding herons and dispersing raptors, particularly juvenile
Aquila adalberti.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The main threat is from agricultural intensification and expansion.
