Site location and context
A spring-fed wetland dominated by reedbeds (
Phragmites) and surrounded by arable agriculture.
The site is important for species breeding in reedbeds and passage waterbirds. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria:
Aythya nyroca.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Water abstraction, both groundwater and surface water, for irrigation of crops is a serious threat.
