The site includes marshes, reedbeds (Phragmites) and aquatic vegetation.

The main threats are sand and peat extraction and problems with water management during the summer (`Other' threats, above).

National Low International None69 ha of IBA covered by 3 Hunting Reserves (total area 69 ha). 150 ha Private Reserve (LPO-BirdLife, 150 ha).
