Site location and context
Saltwater and freshwater lagoons with reedbeds (
Phragmites), sand-dunes, beaches, rocky coast, wet meadows, agricultural and uncultivated land.
The site is important for passage and wintering waterbirds. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria
: Aythya nyroca (passage).
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The main threats are from recreational development on and around the site, including a golf course and swimming pool.

International Partial52 ha of IBA covered by Private Reserve (SEPNB Reserve, 52 ha). 850 ha of IBA covered by Hunting Reserve (Baie d'Audierne, 850 ha). 1,600 ha of IBA covered by Special Protection Area (Baie d'Audierne, 1,600 ha).
