Site description (2009 baseline)
Located in southern Guizhou, adjacent to the border with northern Guangxi. The reserve extends 22.8 km from east to west and 21.8 km from north to south. It has a karst limestone landscape, and the characteristic forest that grows on karst. Forest cover is over 90%.

Key biodiversity

Non-bird biodiversity: Nationally protected plants include Tsuga tckekiangensis, Pinus kwangtungensis. Animals include Panthera tigris, Panthera pardus, Selenarctos thibetanus, Capricornis sumatraensis and Moschus berezovskii. Nationally protected plants include Handeliodendron bodinieri and Calocedrus macrolepis.
