Other species: Besides the trigger species the following are confirmed or likely to be breeding or resident: Black Shag, Little Black Shag, Pied Shag, Little Shag, White-faced Heron, White Heron, Reef Heron, Royal Spoonbill, Para-dise Shelduck, (Grey Duck), Grey Teal, NZ Shoveler, Australasian Harrier, Banded Rail, Spotless Crake, Pukeko, South Island Pied Oystercatcher, Variable Oystercatcher, Pied Stilt, Banded Dotterel, Black-fronted Dotterel, Spur-winged Plover, South-ern Black-backed Gull, Red-billed Gull, Caspian Tern, White-fronted Tern, Shining Cuckoo, NZ Kingfisher, Welcome Swallow, NZ Pipit, North Island Fernbird, Grey Warbler, North Island Fantail, Silvereye, Black Swan, Canada Goose, Mallard, Californi-an Quail, Rock Pigeon, Spotted Dove, Skylark, Hedge Sparrow, Blackbird, Song Thrush, Yellowhammer, Chaffinch, Green-finch, Goldfinch, House Sparrow, Starling, Common Myna, Australian Magpie.
