Key biodiversity

IBA Trigger species: Yellow-eyed Penguin, Eastern Rockhopper Penguin, Antipodean (Gibson's) Albatross, White-capped Albatross, White-chinned Petrel, Light-mantled Sooty Albatross, Auckland Islands Shag, Red-crowned Parakeet

Besides the trigger species the following species are confirmed or likely to be breeding: Sooty Shearwater, Antarctic Prion, White-faced Heron, NZ Falcon, Brown Skua, Southern Black-backed Gull, Red-billed Gull, White-fronted Tern, Antarctic Tern, Yellow-crowned Parakeet, Spur-winged Plover, Auckland Island Pipit, Silvereye, Auckland Island Tomtit, Bellbird, Tui, Hedge Sparrow, Chaffinch, Goldfinch, Redpoll, House Sparrow, Starling.
