Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
A mountainous area with
Fagus and
Abies alba forests, lakes and bogs with
Pinus mugo and areas of
Taxus baccata.
This is an important site for breeding
Aquila chrysaetos, and also
Tetrao urogallus and
Alectoris graeca (1989 data only, no recent data available).
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The main threat is deforestation by clear-felling.
