Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
A large archipelago in the north-east Gulf of Bothnia supporting sandy beaches, herb-rich meadows, forested islands and less sheltered rocky islands. There are several summer cottages in the area.
An important area for island-breeding birds.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Part of the area is a candidate SAC.
National Low
International High860 ha of IBA covered by Private Protection Area (örarn, 807 ha; Eura, 3 ha; Tolumansgrundet, 13 ha; Gäddvik, 6 ha; Flaskskär, 21 ha; Storgrundet, 14 ha; Krokas, 6 ha). 17,310 ha of IBA covered by Special Protection Area (Luodon saaristo).
