Site description (2009 baseline):

An oasis in the mountains of central Ningxia. The main vegetation types are montane grassland and temperate coniferous forest.

Non-bird biodiversity: No information.

Established as a county-level nature reserve in 1982, and upgraded to a national nature reserve in 2002.
