Site description (2009 baseline)
Lugu Hu is located in north-western Yunnan and south-western Sichuan. It is a freshwater lake with shallow marshes along the edge. The lake circumference is 44 km, and it extends 9.4 km from north to south and 5.2 km from east to west. There are three islands in the lake and a peninsula.
Key biodiversity
Non-bird biodiversity: Ottelia acuminata var. crispa is endemic to Lugu Hu.
