Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
Flood-plains of the Rivers Eider, Treene and Sorge. Part of the site is below sea-level. The area is dominated by grassland, parts of which are used non-intensively, interspersed with moraines and raised bogs.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The government of Schleswig-Holstein has started an integrated project to develop the area.

International Partial660 ha of IBA covered by Nature Reserve (Alte-Sorge-Schleife, 660 ha). 620 ha of IBA covered by Nature Reserve (Dellstedter Birkwildmoor, 620 ha). 191 ha of IBA covered by Nature Reserve (Delver Koog, 191 ha). 364 ha of IBA covered by Nature Reserve (Hohner See, 364 ha). 205 ha of IBA covered by Nature Reserve (Tetenhuser Moor, 205 ha). 631 ha of IBA covered by Nature Reserve (Wildes Moor, 631 ha). IBA overlaps with Special Protection Area.
