Site location and context
A non-navigable tidal branch of the River Weser, with mudflats and fringed by grassland and reedbeds (
Phragmites).
The site holds 20,000 or more waterbirds in winter, on a regular basis. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria:
Crex crex (10 breeding pairs).

The area is candidate Special Area for Conservation.

International PartialIBA overlaps with Special Protection Area (Rechter Nebenarm der Weser bei Brake).
