Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
A gorge with alluvial forest and surrounding hills covered by phrygana. The site includes a small wetland. Human activities include stock-raising, arable agriculture, quarrying and hunting.
This is an important area for raptors and species found in phrygana. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria:
Aquila heliaca (non-breeding).
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Threats include the expansion of arable agriculture, drainage and quarrying.
