Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
A mountainous area dominated by
Pinus forests,
Quercus woodland and sclerophyllous scrub. Three rivers with associated riverine vegetation cross the area. The main human activities are forestry and hunting.
This is an important site for breeding raptors.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The main threats are from the high hunting pressure and the expansion of irrigated arable cultivation.
