Site description (2009 baseline):

Site location and context
This IBA includes the whole of Longlin and Xilin counties, and the area between Tianlin County and Panying Shan mountain. It lies at the edge of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. The vegetation is well preserved in the IBA, and includes intact broadleaf and coniferous forests.

Key biodiversity

Non-bird biodiversity: Nationally protected animals include Andrias davidianus, Python molurus, Manis pentadactyla, Felis temmincki, Viverricula indica, Viverra zibetha and Moschus berezovskii.



Conservation responses/actions for key biodiversity
Partially protected in the provincial-level Jinzhongshan Nature Reserve (27,300 ha, established in 1985), the county-level Huagong Watershed Nature Reserve (15,700 ha), the county-level Nazuo Watershed Nature Reserve (40,000 ha established in 1982), and the county-level Maojiemaolie Nature Reserve (26,100 ha).
