Site description (2009 baseline):

Located at the southern tip of Henan Province, between the Yangtze and Huai He river catchments. The reserve is within the northern subtropical region, and has a moist climate. The main habitats are northern subtropical broadleaf evergreen and deciduous forests.

Non-bird biodiversity: No information.

Established as a provincial-level nature reserve in 1982.
