Site description (2019 baseline)
Leskovačko Polje is a plain and hilly terrain located along Južna Morava river in central part of Serbia. This IBA represents the largest fluvial-tectonic depression in the South Morava river valley. It is mostly agricultural area with small, bush-edged fields planted with crops and vegetables. This area is highly populated with more than 100000 inhabitants situated in more than 35 settlements within Leskovac, Lebane and Bojnik municipalities.
