Site description (2009 baseline)
Located in the south-eastern part of Guizhou Province, and in the watershed of the Yangtze and Pearl River systems. Areas below 1,400 m have been converted into agricultural land and scrub, areas at 1,400-1,850 m are dominated by broadleaf evergreen mixed forest, and areas above 2,100 m are dominated by Rhododendron and arrow bamboo.
Key biodiversity
Non-bird biodiversity: Nationally protected plants include Taiwania cryptomerioides, Tetracentron sinense, Fokienia hodginsii and Liriodendron chinense. Animals include Prionodon pardicolor, Viverricula indica, Viverra zibetha, Felis temmincki, Manis pentadactyla, Moschus berezovskii, Capricornis sumatraensis and Selenarctos thibetanus.
