Site description (2000 baseline):

Site location and context

Reservoirs on the Danube (Bertoldsheimer Stau) and River Lech (Feldheimer Stau) with shallow zones covered by reedbeds (Phragmites) and surrounded by large riverine forests.

Pressure/threats to key biodiversity

Intensification of forestry and extraction of water are potential threats, whilst fishing and boat traffic create some disturbance.

Protected areas

National Partial International PartialIBA overlaps with Landscape Protected Area and Nature Reserve. IBA overlaps with Ramsar Site.
