Site location and context
Located in north-west Lijiang County, adjacent to Lijiang City and Yulong Xueshan Nature Reserve (CN236). Lashi Hai is a rain-fed lake, and sedimentation has resulted in an increase in the shallow water area. The marshes and agricultural land in the vicinity provide suitable wintering grounds for waterbirds.

Conservation responses/actions for key biodiversity
Established as a provincial-level nature reserve (6,532 ha) in 1998. Lashi Hai was designated in 2004 as a ‘Wetland of International Importance’ (or Ramsar site) under the Ramsar Convention on Wetlands.
