Site description (2000 baseline):

Site location and context

Two shallow lakes, the water-levels of which are managed to provide suitable habitat for waterbirds. Fishing takes place on the lakes and the surrounds are used for grazing and arable farming.

Pressure/threats to key biodiversity

The input of organic matter to the lakes due to intensive agricultural practices is a serious problem.

Protected areas

National None International HighIBA overlaps with Special Protection Area.
