Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
Three small lagoons to the north of Puerto de Santa María. They are surrounded by irrigated crops and grassland.
This is an important site for breeding and non-breeding waterbirds. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria:
Marmaronetta angustirostris (non-breeding)
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The main threats are from fires in the surrounding vegetation, collisions with powerlines, illegal hunting and increased sedimentation as a result of agricultural intensification. A management plan exists.

International Partial291 ha of IBA covered by Natural Reserve (Lagunas Salada, Juncosa y Chica, 291 ha). 37 ha of IBA covered by Ramsar Site (Laguna Salada, 37 ha). 63 ha of IBA covered by Special Protection Area (Lagunas de Terry: Salada, Juncosa y Chica, 63 ha).
