Site summary
The site is located in hilly country with meadows and pastures along the Laborec, Udava, Vyrava, Otka, and Cirocha rivers. Prevailing habitats are beech forest, temporary forest habitats, and mosaic agricultu­ral land. The area is used for forestry, hunting, and cattle and sheep grazing. Important populations of forest birds, birds of prey and owls nest in this area. The site has special importance for those birds which inhabit river courses and riverbank vegetation. Non-regulated forestry activities are the most serious thre­ats to birds. The site is proposed as an SPA.
