Site summary
Deciduous forests and fields surround the water reservoir Kraľová, which is bordered by the remains of the arms of the Váh river. The water reservoir is intensively used for sport fishing and other recreational activities; including intensive hunting. Gravel extraction is under way in the eastern part of the area. The site is an important nesting place for Night Heron in a mixed colony with Grey Heron. The water reservoir is also very important for migrating birds. The main threat for the area originates from deforestation, recreational activities and illegal hunting. The site is proposed as an SPA.
