Site description (2000 baseline)
The IBA comprises the bay where the Rhine leaves Lake Constance and part of the River Rhine itself, adjoining Swiss IBA 015. The bay remains ice-free during the winter.

Key biodiversity
The site holds more than 20,000 wintering wildfowl on a regular basis.
