Site description (2024 baseline):

Site location and context
A mostly agricultural area in south-eastern Finland.

Key biodiversity
The site attracts large numbers of staging geese on spring and autumn migration. The area also hosts some very rare breeders in Finland and in the whole Europe, such as Great Snipe, Citrine Wagtail and Booted Warbler.

Habitat and land use
An area consisting of agricultural fields, small forest patches and small wetlands and peatlands. Small parts of the area are protected and also managed for birds.

Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
There are plans for solar energy development, which currently threat the most important parts of the area. Also any changes in agricultural practices may alter the habitat.
