Site description (2009 baseline):
Site location and context
Located in Ejia Town, Shuangbai County, Chuxiong Prefecture. The main habitats are monsoon rainforest, evergreen broadleaf forest, deciduous broadleaf forest and forested grassland, and forest cover is c.90%. The area lies in the middle to lower sections of a river valley on the eastern slope of the Ailao Shan mountains. It is an important migration route of birds.
Non-bird biodiversity: No information.
Conservation responses/actions for key biodiversity
Established as a prefecture-level nature reserve in 2003, and a management office was set up in 2004.
