Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
A deep river valley surrounded by hills with deciduous forest, scrub and grassland. The main human activity is livestock-farming.
This is a very important area for breeding and passage raptors. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria:
Haliaeetus albicilla (resident),
Aegypius monachus (passage),
Aquila heliaca (passage).
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The main threats to the site are from deforestation and intensive forest management. Long-term monitoring of raptors is carried out. Part of the area is a candidate SAC.
