Site location and context
Three larger and several smaller islands and islets, together with surrounding seas. The islands are mainly covered in boulders and scree, intermingled with ponds and vegetated areas. Human activities include fishing and sheep-grazing, both at low intensity.
This is the southernmost seabird colony of notable size in Norway.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
Introduced rabbits
Oryctolagus cuniculus are present. Entrance to the Nature Reserve is prohibited during the breeding season. Breeding seabirds are monitored almost annually by the Norwegian Institute for Nature Research.
