Site description (2000 baseline)
This site, located near Lenino town, includes areas of steppe on the Kazantip peninsula together with wetland habitat along the coast of the Sea of Azov.

Key biodiversity
The total number of breeding waterbirds is 2,300-2,500 pairs, while 10,000-12,000 individuals stage here during migration (with maximum in October-November).
