Site description (2009 baseline):

Site location and context

Located at the north-western edge of Luhuo County. Kasha Hu is a rectangular lake with an area of 109 ha and a maximum depth of 17 m.

Key biodiversity

Non-bird biodiversity: Tsuga longibracteata and Abies sp. occur in the area. Animals include Moschus berezovskii, Moschus sifanicus, Selenarctos thibetanus, Felis lynx and Felis temmincki.

Conservation responses/actions for key biodiversity

Established as a provincial-level nature reserve in 1995.
