Kap Brewster and Volquart Boon's coast


Site description (2000 baseline):

Site location and context
Rocky coastline and cliffs located on the south shore of Scoresby Sund (IBA 043), extending from 22°W to 25°W. Subsistence hunting takes place.



Key biodiversity
The area is internationally important for Alle alle, which is present in extremely large numbers. Other breeding auks include Uria lomvia (15,000 individuals) and possibly Fratercula arctica. Fulmarus glacialis and Rissa tridactyla also breed.



Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
With the exception of local disturbance caused by hunting, no serious threats are known at the site.
