Site description (2000 baseline)
A freshwater lake near the Danube delta.

Key biodiversity
The total number of migrating waterbirds that stage here exceeds 20,000 individuals, with a maximum during August-October. Species of global conservation concern that do not meet IBA criteria: Phalacrocorax pygmeus (min. 13 birds in winter).
