Site description (2009 baseline):
Site location and context
Located on the border between Guangdong and Jiangxi Provinces, in the Nan Ling mountains. The IBA has dense subtropical broadleaf evergreen forests.
Non-bird biodiversity: Many of the plants are of ancient origin, including Ginkgo biloba and tree-ferns.
Conservation responses/actions for key biodiversity
Established as a nature reserve in 1975, upgraded to provincial level in 1981 and to a national nature reserve in 2003. The reserve joined the MAB network in 1995, the first reserve in Jiangxi to join the network. It was established as a national forest park in January 2006.
