Site description (2009 baseline):

Located in the north-eastern part of Hubei Province.

Non-bird biodiversity: Nationally protected plants include Gingo biloba. Animals include Neofelis nebulosa, Viverra zibetha and Manis pentadactyla.

Established as a provincial-level nature reserve in 1988, and upgraded to a national nature reserve in 2003.
