Site description (2000 baseline):
Site location and context
A group of islets to the west of Ibiza. The largest island, Conejera, has cliffs and is dominated by
Juniperus scrub. There are no permanent inhabitants but there are many visitors during the summer. The rest of the islets are rocky with sparse scrub cover.
This is an important site for breeding seabirds.
Pressure/threats to key biodiversity
The main threats are from disturbance of
Larus audouinii by rabbit hunters, military activities and tourists, hunting, and the collection of
Puffinus yelkouan chicks for food.
Larus cachinnans colonies are culled annually. The IBA overlaps with a Natural Area of Special Interest (Isoltes de Ibiza y Formentera).
